Faculty Senate Discussion

Salary Compression

There is an ever present “schasm” between admin and faculty.  Promotion and advancement in the admin world is largely accomplished at the expense (time and energy) of “third-world” faculty.  The same occurs and is rampant in primary and secondary education.  Most universities have evolved the means to address salary compression – not so at UF.  Salary compression is largely the result of a faculty member’s unwillingness to seek employment at other universities (to deceive in order to receive  a match in salary by others).   I am now in drop – and only dreaming of retirement salaries of the admin who love to play the game.  Am I now to lose the already pared sick leave too?
